{"id":718,"date":"2010-05-19T21:34:16","date_gmt":"2010-05-20T05:34:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lunabase.org\/~faber\/blog\/?p=718"},"modified":"2010-05-19T21:34:16","modified_gmt":"2010-05-20T05:34:16","slug":"review-new-moon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lunabase.org\/~faber\/blog\/?p=718","title":{"rendered":"Review: New Moon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t have a whole lot to say about <em>New Moon<\/em>, the second book in Stephenie Meyer&#8217;s <em>Twilight Saga<\/em>, that I didn&#8217;t <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lunabase.org\/~faber\/blog\/?p=702\">say about <em>Twilight<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>New Moon<\/em> explores the world of <em>Twilight<\/em> more. We find out more about the balance of power in the town where the main characters live and we learn a little more about other vampires.\u00a0 We get to know the third member of the saga&#8217;s love triangle, Jacob the werewolf.<\/p>\n<p>And we get to suffer with Bella as she deals with the stresses being in love with an immortal seventeen year old.<\/p>\n<p>Meyer does a good job balancing it all out, and keeping the pages turning, but it&#8217;s a hard ride for Bella. Meyer makes the reader sympathize with her, which is to say you relive all the times you broke up with a vampire.\u00a0 The whole thing was draining for me, but in a good way.<\/p>\n<p>If you liked <em>Twilight<\/em>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lunabase.org\/~faber\/blog\/?p=702\">I did<\/a>, <em>New Moon<\/em> has a lot of the same things going for it, without anything getting stale.<\/p>\n<p>Strongly recommended.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t have a whole lot to say about New Moon, the second book in Stephenie Meyer&#8217;s Twilight Saga, that I didn&#8217;t say about Twilight.
