{"id":2368,"date":"2017-03-12T17:55:29","date_gmt":"2017-03-13T01:55:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lunabase.org\/~faber\/blog\/?p=2368"},"modified":"2017-03-12T17:55:29","modified_gmt":"2017-03-13T01:55:29","slug":"review-a-call-to-action-women-religion-violence-and-power","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lunabase.org\/~faber\/blog\/?p=2368","title":{"rendered":"Review: A Call To Action: Women, Religion, Violence, and Power"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My admiration for Jimmy Carter&#8217;s accomplishments is nearly boundless.\u00a0 He&#8217;s a former US president who has dedicated his career to promoting justice internationally.\u00a0 His view of justice is informed by his strong religious beliefs, which is refreshing.\u00a0 Even as he holds to his Baptist faith and remains active in that church, he calls the church leaders to task when they make unjust decisions.\u00a0 I admire his drive, dedication, and pride.<\/p>\n<p><em>A Call To Action<\/em> brings those beliefs and experience to bear on the state of womens&#8217; rights across the world.\u00a0 He is, as ever, unflinching in his assessment and optimistic in his outlook.<\/p>\n<p>I do wish he wrote more dynamically.\u00a0 His analysis of the state of the world and underlying causes seems to be exhaustive and even-handed.
