{"id":2103,"date":"2015-10-24T08:24:13","date_gmt":"2015-10-24T16:24:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lunabase.org\/~faber\/blog\/?p=2103"},"modified":"2015-10-24T08:24:13","modified_gmt":"2015-10-24T16:24:13","slug":"even-the-downsides-are-upsides","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lunabase.org\/~faber\/blog\/?p=2103","title":{"rendered":"Even the Downsides are Upsides"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>\u201cAn inconvenience is only an adventure wrongly considered; an adventure is an inconvenience rightly considered.\u201d \u2013 On Running After Ones Hat, <em>All Things Considered<\/em>, 1908<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I spent most of the day yesterday with my instructor doing more transition training.\u00a0 I&#8217;m still metaphorically clawing my way toward the left seat from the tail as I try to internalize all the complex and high performance operating procedures.\u00a0 I did perform a feat that qualifies as a landing and not an ugly arrival saved by my instructor.\u00a0 That made me feel undeniably better.<\/p>\n<p>After we stopped for lunch, we started back around the pattern at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airnav.com\/airport\/KCMA\">Camarillo<\/a> for a few more landings, and noticed that the alternator was no longer charging the battery.\u00a0 We shed load landed and tried to debug, to no avail.<\/p>\n<p>The fine folks at Camarillo Air Service sent over an electrical tech to try to get us on our way, but there did not seem to be a quick fix in the offing.
