Now computers connected to my wireless can continue to access the Internet even if ylum is down or off-line.<\/p>\n<p>Practically speaking, I put the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/DHCP\">DHCP<\/a> server and a lightweight <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/DNS\">DNS<\/a> server up on the little router.  These are actually part of the same program, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekelleys.org.uk\/dnsmasq\/doc.html\">dnsmasq<\/a>, that comes with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.openwrt.org\">OpenWRT<\/a>.  The result is that even if ylum is sick for days, or I&#8217;m fooling with it, laptops and other local machines can still reach the rest of the world.  Hmmmm.
