It's really sad. Most of them think you need to double-click links. (I'm only talking about AOL, Netscape Naviagtor, and Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows 95 and Mac OS here, not weird things where you really do have to double-click.) Most of them don't seem to have found the OTHER MOUSE BUTTON in Win95, either. Did you know there are people who don't realize that they can scroll the window? Really. (To say nothing of those people who don't know about the "<--BACK" button or the ability to make bookmarks.) This explains, I think, why Janet Reno wants Microsoft to remove the _shortcut_ (alias, link) icon for Internet Explorer from the desktop. She probably doesn't realize that removing the icon doesn't remove the program. (I have seen Win95 users who haven't seen the Start menu or the contents of My Computer and only run things by double-clicking desktop icons -- in that case, Janet Reno's scheme would work.) Lee Bumgarner will now post a brief rant about how back when you had to use a keyboard once in a while the Internet was entirely filled with intellectual discourse about Keats. Now it's just filled with para-Keats. And lame puns. -- K. CLICK HERE 500,000 TIMES AND YOU'LL GET 500,000 DOLLARS!
