It should be noted that certain people have actually gone to great
trouble and expense to equip themselves to - get this! - immerse
themselves in certain naturally-occurring bodies of a solution of
hydrogen hydroxide and an assortment of metallic salts, organic
compounds and sundry other materials, and spend considerable time
therein, breathing with the assistance of bizarre apparatus.

This alone should demonstrate the strange and pernicious effect that
this stuff has on certain human brains.  As is well known, remaining
immersed so when the breathing apparatus has ceased to deliver air can
cause death.  In such cases, hydrogen hydroxide becomes a thoroughly
lethal substance.  Yet this inocuous-seeming substance continues to lure
more and more all the time into this dangerous pastime.
